Emily’s Beaches Negril review
Going to Jamaica was literally the BEST vacation I have ever taken! It has very fun activities, delicious restaurants, a cool beach, and more!
My grandma was going to take my family and cousins on a vacation and we were going to go on a Disney Cruise in 2021, but it got cancelled because of covid. I suggested Jamaica after reading about it in a book and my family decided we would go there.
We stayed in an all-inclusive resort, which is part of why I loved it so much. I’m sure that going on a vacation to Jamaica would’ve still been fun if we didn’t stay at an all-inclusive resort, though!
Things you should know before going to Beaches Negril
Jamaica is the 3rd largest island in the Caribbean Sea. Jamaica’s capitol is Kingston and they speak English there. The tropical island has many rivers and mountains. The best time to go is November to mid-December and the average temperature is usually 73 degrees F to 89 degrees F. There are many different fruits, plants, and animals on Jamaica. And the people there were so nice and funny!
Why you should go to Beaches Negril
Jamaica is perfect for people of all ages! Grown-ups will have a relaxing stay at Beaches, while their kids have a fun-filled vacation!
At Beaches Negril, you pay to stay at the resort, then, you don’t have to pay for anything else! Unlimited frozen yogurt, other treats, and smoothies (trust me most of the smoothies there are really good!) That was my cousin’s favorite part. Even my dad liked Jamaica and he doesn’t like a lot of things!
Also, the people there never get mad at you or yell at you. The people are really nice and laidback. You can do lots of things you might not be able to do at home like eating in the hot tub.
Restaurants and food at Beaches Negril
There are 10 restaurants at Beaches Negril, including the treat places.
Stew Fish
First, there’s Stew Fish, which is on the beach! Stew Fish mostly has Jamaican and Caribbean seafood.
Watch out for lizards at Stew Fish, because, when my family when there, a gecko fell off the umbrella, onto my uncle Scott! There’s a smoothie stand on the beach right next to Stew Fish, so while you wait for your food, you could play in the waves, or grab a smoothie!
The Mill
Next, is The Mill. The Mill is a great place for breakfast, if you ask me. It is right next to one of the pools (there’s 2 main pools, but, a lot of “hidden” or “secret” ones, too) and has buffets for breakfast, lunch, and dinner! For breakfast, The Mill has stuff like waffles and bacon.
The Venetian
Then, there is The Venetian. The Venetian is an Italian place with delicious Italian donuts for dessert. It’s right above The Mill. You have to go up some stairs to get to The Venetian, so it’s hard to get people in wheelchairs up. Next to the stairs is a pool table, so you can play pool while you wait for your food. My brother loves pool and played it with our cousin, Oliver.
Kimonos
Kimonos is a teriyaki place where they do cool tricks and sometimes throw food into your mouth! Although Kimonos is really cool, it’s not great for kids with autism, my brother thought it was too loud! Kimonos has great rice with vegetables in it. I got an egg piece thrown into my mouth (it’s harder than it looks to catch) and my cousin, Rivers caught a ball of rice!
Mariachi
Mariachi is a Mexican restaurant with tacos, burritos, nachos, etc. They also have steak and chicken. It is by the other main pool (not the one The Mill is by.) If you go there late enough and on the right day, there might be a party or game or something going on by the pool. After you’re done eating, you can finish your day by joining the party!
Bar.B.Q Park
Next, is Bar.B.Q Park. They have burgers, fries, hot dogs, and stuff like that. You can eat outside at this BBQ place and it’s also by the pool with Mariachi! Bar.B.Q Park is right next to a smoothie stand, like Stew Fish. It’s a good place to get a quick lunch, then, get back to the activities or other stuff!
Dino’s Pizzeria
My personal favorite is Dino’s Pizzeria. This is a pizza place by the pool The Mill is by. Its right behind a swim up pool bar/smoothie stand, a pool, and a hot tub! My cousins, friends, and I loved eating our pizza in the hot tub! Honestly, Dino’s Pizzeria pizza is even better than Little Caesar’s pizza, and I LOVE Little Caesar’s! This yummy restaurant is a good place for a quick lunch, as well!
Soy Sushi Bar
My family didn’t go to this one when we went to Beaches, but here it is anyways! Soy Sushi Bar is (you guessed it!) a sushi bar. Since we didn’t go there, I don’t know much about it, but it is one of the restaurants at Beaches Negril. My uncle Scott went there though, and he liked it. He likes sushi because he lived in Japan.
Yoyo’s
Yoyo’s is the frozen yogurt place (it’s not really an all-inclusive resort unless it has fro-yo!) Yoyo’s has plenty of flavors and toppings. Everybody will find something they like here! It has every flavor from strawberry to chocolate and every topping from fruit to brownies (make sure you don’t get fruit flavored fro-yo with brownies for the topping!) The flavors and toppings change constantly. Swim up pool bars and smoothie stands are also included at Beaches!
Cafe de Paris
Last but not least is Café de Paris. This sweet shop has everything from different flavors of cake to ice cream to cookies! I really liked the chocolate-banana crepes! The delicious treats are also always changing, so if you don’t like what they have one day, they’ll have something new soon! Café de Paris is next to the pool with The Mill. The ice cream is really good here! And, remember, it’s all free!
Activities at Beaches Negril
At Beaches Negril, Jamaica, you will find tons of games, stuff to do, and fun! You will find foosball tables, a basketball court, croquet, pool tables, a place to drop off your little kids, and more!
There are tons of water activities, too! There are water bikes, kayaks, paddleboards, snorkeling, glass-bottom boats, scuba diving, tubes, regular swimming, and more on the beach!
Other activities include a night club, game room, pools, hot tubs, water volleyball, waterslides, splash pads, a lazy river, exploring, and more! Plus, they sometimes play games by the pool.
The foosball tables are all over the resort and I’m pretty sure the only pool table is in The Mill. You can get a water bike, kayak, paddleboard, or tube by going to a little stand thing on the beach. You have to sign up at another place to go snorkeling or on a glass-bottom boat. Water volleyball is in the pool by The Mill. The waterslides, splash pad, and lazy river are right by the other pool. This pool is the more popular one.
In my opinion, the best things to do were the water activities, pools, and beach.
The Beach at Beaches Negril
The beach is just a little walk from pretty much anywhere in the resort. The water is clear and warm (most of the time.) Sometimes, you might see stingrays while on a kayak or something. If you don’t touch or bother them, they won’t bother you. My dad and I paddleboarded right over a stingray!
The beach is a great place to look for seashells or coral. The seashells are very pretty and easy to find. Beautiful, free souvenirs!
There’s a rope in the water that you aren’t allowed to pass when you’re swimming. There’s tons of cool fish and other sea creatures in the water. When I went snorkeling, I saw fish, jellyfish, coral, sea urchins, and more!
Tips for going to Beaches Negril
Here are some tips you may want to listen to:
- You might not want not arrive in PJs, arrive in something tie-die or colorful and shorts. When I got there, everybody at the resort was wearing a colorful shirt and shorts.
- Try the smoothies; my cousin Rivers didn’t really like smoothies until he had one from Beaches Negril!
- Bring sunscreen and bug spray. I got sunburned so bad that even the skin under my hair was peeling off! My mom got some bug bites in Jamaica and complained about them for 2 weeks!
- JUST RELAX AND HAVE FUN!
